My name is Peggy Hoffman...

I am both a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in the state of Kentucky with over 30 years experience working in a variety of behavioral health care settings.

Most of my career as a therapist has been in community mental health; and most recently at a regional rape crisis/child advocacy center where I was a forensic interviewer, and therapist to victims of sexual assault/abuse and non-offending family members...

I am a member of both the national and state professional organizations as follows: National Association of Social Workers; American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy; and Association for Play Therapy.

I have completed 214 hours of Sandplay Worldplay training facilitated by Gisela DeDomenico, PhD., RPT-S of Vision Quest Into Symbolic Reality, Oakland, California. The experiential group training focused on the use of the sandtray with individuals of all ages, preschool through adult; couples, families, groups, working with trauma; and developing personal affirmations.

I have been a “builder”- doing my own personal sandtrays to explore loss and grief issues.  I have also served as the “observer/witness/facilitator” to other therapists’ sandtray work in the trainings; and clients as young as 4 through adults, managing the effects of childhood sexual abuse.

I decided to develop a therapy practice focused on primary use of the sandtray, based on the experience and conviction that the use of the sandtray and images offer one of the most powerfully self-guided, empowering and wisdom seeking experiences for those open to exploring a therapy different from traditional “talk” therapy.

My commitment to you as therapist is to  provide a safe, confidential place for you to do your sandtray therapy work, to be supportive, to listen, to be affirming as you find and trust your wisdom during your journey in being and becoming!

Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states that we have to go through.   Anais Nin
